Colossians 1:15-18 (NIV)
15 The Son is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation.
16 For in him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things have been created through him and for him.
17 He is before all things, and in him all things hold together.
18 And he is the head of the body, the church; he is the beginning and the firstborn from among the dead, so that in everything he might have the supremacy.

"That in EVERYTHING he might have the supremacy".

I contend that the supremacy of Christ is not just high theology but is literally the most practical issue in our lives.

The Supremacy of Christ should not only fill the orthodoxy of your life but also the orthopraxy of your life.

This word "Supremacy" means: preeminence, first in rank, or "first-places-ness".

The first of the Ten Commandments from Moses: "You shall have no other gods before me".

The first and great commandment according to Jesus: "Love the Lord your God with all ..."

In the Sermon on the Mount Jesus will say, "Seek first the kingdom of God ..."

So the issue of supremacy in your heart, mind, money, family, prayers, mission, etc., is the ultimate issue of your existence and the universe.

Though there are many manifestations, sin is actually the missing of the mark of the glory of God being supreme in all things.

Satan's many strategies and temptations are all focused upon the toppling of the supremacy of Christ in our hearts and everywhere.

When the supremacy of Christ is being established and rooted in every area of our lives the life of God is manifest.

Your best prayer strategy is - the supremacy of Christ.
Your best mission plan is - the supremacy of Christ.
Your best financial strategy is - the supremacy of Christ.
Your best family plan is - the supremacy of Christ.
Your best life goal is - the supremacy of Christ.

All of hell is raging against this ultimate issue.

Every trial and treasure, pain and pleasure, blessing and betrayal are attempting to be hijacked by the deceiver to usurp the supremacy of Christ in our lives.

The good news is that the most powerful leader on the planet, and the gift of our salvation, the Holy Spirit, is radically committed to the ultimate exaltation and adoration of Jesus Christ in our hearts and in the nations.
