Revelation 12:7-11 (NIV)
7 Then war broke out in heaven. Michael and his angels fought against the dragon, and the dragon and his angels fought back.
8 But he was not strong enough, and they lost their place in heaven.
9 The great dragon was hurled down—that ancient serpent called the devil, or Satan, who leads the whole world astray. He was hurled to the earth, and his angels with him.
10 Then I heard a loud voice in heaven say: “Now have come the salvation and the power and the kingdom of our God, and the authority of his Messiah. For the accuser of our brothers and sisters, who accuses them before our God day and night, has been hurled down.
11 They triumphed over him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony; they did not love their lives so much as to shrink from death.

The enemy is called the “Kategoros” which is a Greek term meaning: a “complainant at law”. One who legally accuses.

This apocalyptic description reveals a defeat of Satan in heavenly realms by two primary groups.

Group #1: Michael and his angels by sheer overwhelming power.
Group #2: The Messiah’s accused family of brothers and sisters by:
  - the blood of the Lamb
  - the word of their testimony
  - giving up saving their lives from death

Remember that Satan’s attacks come in the form of accusation and run along legal lines.

And our overcoming his debilitating accusations must involve legal actions of a higher authority.

Another way to say this is: Satan’s schemes only work in our lives if we give him legal rights.

On the other hand, by the power of the Messiah we now can overcome the Devil by exercising our legal rights and removing his.

1) Our faith in the blood of the Lamb becomes the legal reason that the Devil’s accusations can be broken off of our minds and conscience.
2) The word of our testimony, or bold confession of our faith in Christ, becomes a legal Satan-defeating action.
3) Denying ourselves and being set free from the love of our lives legally disempowers the enemy’s threats and accusations of death.

2 Corinthians 5:15 NIV
15 And he died for all, that those who live should no longer live for themselves but for him who died for them and was raised again.

The victory of the Church over the Devil in the coming Tribulation and in our current tribulations is accomplished by the three-fold strategy in Revelation.
