Over the last few decades there has been an increase of focus and manifestation of Apostolic and Prophetic ministry.
These two have been neglected most among the five-fold ministries listed in Ephesians 4:11-13
“And he gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the shepherds and teachers, to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ, until we all attain to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to mature manhood, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ,”
This is a very, very good thing and so vital has we move closer to the end of the Age.
But, as with all “restoration movements” there has also come some messiness in the restoration.
I believe in the last couple years there have been attempts by the Enemy to hijack the restoration of these two vital functions by polluting them lack of scriptural accountability.
But the zeal of the Lord and our loving Father so arranges circumstances and raises up voices to bring about purity in the restoration.
Particularly the Prophetic is being put on a platform for the dealings of the Lord.
I believe that the Spirit is “re-rooting” the prophetic ministry back into the Scriptures and thus the Supremacy of Christ.
“knowing this first of all, that no prophecy of Scripture comes from someone’s own interpretation. For no prophecy was ever produced by the will of man, but men spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit.”
2 Peter 1:20-21 (ESV)
“Then I fell down at his feet to worship him, but he said to me, “You must not do that! I am a fellow servant with you and your brothers who hold to the testimony of Jesus. Worship God.” For the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.”
Let us not throw the baby out with the bath water but rather humbly respond to the loving correction of our Father.
