One of the primary mistakes made by those on mission, or in ministry, is the lack of distinction made between “the Kingdom” and “my Culture”.

If not careful we can make the culture of our expression as important as the King and His Kingdom.

1 Peter 2:9 (ESV)
9 But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light.

In the Kingdom, just like in Israel, there is One holy nation filled with many different tribes.

Unless you back up and get a wide-angle view of the Body of Christ you’re going to end up with a myopic or short-sited view of the ministry.

It is possible to be preaching Jesus while attaching your way of singing to Jesus as essential to receiving Jesus.

We will distort the King and His Kingdom message if we do not accurately divide between Kingdom and Culture.

We will end up missing agreement with the Holy Spirit if we propagate our Culture with the same emphasis that we propagate the Kingdom of God.
