The Bible provides all that we need to know about Who God is and How He wants us to think about everything.

We call this: Theology.

I believe that we need a Theology for All Things.

The Church must be delivered from the “Either/Or” delusion into the Biblical “Both And” reality.

Today we look at developing a Theology for Glory and Groaning.

Romans 8:16-23 (ESV)
16 The Spirit himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God,
17 and if children, then heirs—heirs of God and fellow heirs with Christ, provided we suffer with him in order that we may also be glorified with him.
18 For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing with the glory that is to be revealed to us.
19 For the creation waits with eager longing for the revealing of the sons of God.
20 For the creation was subjected to futility, not willingly, but because of him who subjected it, in hope
21 that the creation itself will be set free from its bondage to corruption and obtain the freedom of the glory of the children of God.
22 For we know that the whole creation has been groaning together in the pains of childbirth until now.
23 And not only the creation, but we ourselves, who have the firstfruits of the Spirit, groan inwardly as we wait eagerly for adoption as sons, the redemption of our bodies.

Glory is simply the manifestation of God’s Presence and Working now and in the future.
Groaning is simply the manifestation of unfulfilled longing in the midst of corruption and suffering as we long for the Glory.

In this life you will experience glory and groaning.

John 1:14 (ESV)
14 And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth.

2 Corinthians 4:6 (ESV)
6 For God, who said, “Let light shine out of darkness,” has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.

Philippians 4:19-20 (ESV)
19 And my God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus.
20 To our God and Father be glory forever and ever. Amen.

My Theology for Groaning is rooted in verses like:
Romans 8:22-23 (ESV)
22 For we know that the whole creation has been groaning together in the pains of childbirth until now.
23 And not only the creation, but we ourselves, who have the firstfruits of the Spirit, groan inwardly as we wait eagerly for adoption as sons, the redemption of our bodies.

2 Corinthians 5:1-2 (ESV)
1 For we know that if the tent that is our earthly home is destroyed, we have a building from God, a house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens.
2 For in this tent we groan, longing to put on our heavenly dwelling,

A Theology for Glory and Groaning is essential for living by faith in all circumstances and killing off enemy attacks about the goodness of God.
