How our bodies are an "out-raying", a "prophetic sign" of how to operate in the spiritual realm
Genesis 2:7 (ESV)
7 then the Lord God formed the man of dust from the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living creature.
God made man to dwell and operate in both the spiritual and natural realm.
Romans 1:19-20 (ESV)
19 For what can be known about God is plain to them, because God has shown it to them.
20 For his invisible attributes, namely, his eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly perceived, ever since the creation of the world, in the things that have been made. So they are without excuse.
Genesis 1:3-5 (ESV)
3 And God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light.
4 And God saw that the light was good. And God separated the light from the darkness.
5 God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And there was evening and there was morning, the first day.
Colossians 1:15 (ESV)
15 He (Jesus) is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation.
The outward natural realm is, “an out-raying” of the realities of the spiritual realm.
The Unseen God and realm are to be known, experienced, perceived, and related with just as the seen realm.
The five senses in your body were not just random creations by God so that you could stay alive.
The five senses of the body speak of how we experience the invisible God and the heavenly realm.
Ephesians 1:18 (ESV)
18 having the eyes of your hearts enlightened, that you may know what is the hope to which he has called you,
Isaiah 30:21 (ESV)
21 And your ears shall hear a word behind you, saying, “This is the way, walk in it,” when you turn to the right or when you turn to the left.
Psalm 34:8 (ESV)
8 …Oh, taste and see that the Lord is good.
Luke 8:46 (ESV)
46 …But Jesus said, “Someone touched me, for I perceive that power has gone out from me.”
Ephesians 5:2 (ESV)
2 …And walk in love, as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us, a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.
Add to this:
1) spiritual drinking of living water and the Lord’s blood
2) spiritual eating of His flesh
3) spiritual rest in His grace
4) spiritual walking by faith
5) spiritual worship
At the core of how the physical faculties operate is: Feeling.
At the core of how all these spiritual faculties operate is: Faith!
Faith is how you navigate the invisible realm.
Faith is not just a believing in unseen things. It is this but it actually goes a step further in that it is the relating to these unseen things.
The Word of God, “frames up, or gives parameters”, in how we operate by faith with the Lord and His truth.
The disciple of Jesus is to be growing in all of these faith experienced realities.
